Looking

October 30, 2014

Over a month ago, I started a book blog called Sultry, Steamy Reading. For all intents and purposes, I really did want the blog to grow in readership. I wanted to be a part of an online community whose members liked the same kinds of books I read.

For those who don’t know me too well, I love to read. I could stay up the whole night reading. I could finish one entire book in a night’s worth of reading. However, I consider reading my escape and stress reliever after all those hours of working hard and being in front of a computer. Therefore, I read mostly romance novels. I mean, I like all kinds of books, but the romance genre has given me what I  look for when I’m lying in bed and still awake way past my bedtime. It has given me a kind of satisfaction that I haven’t found in other genres.

That’s what I wanted for SSR. I wanted to find a group of book bloggers who read similar books as I do. I would say that I am halfway successful in getting the blog out. The twitter account I created for it has been getting messages and favorites from published authors. Its followers consist of authors, book tour companies, and other book bloggers. The blog stat is good. There’s still a long way to go, but it’s pretty good for me right now.

Which brings us to this moment. I realized that I may need another book blogger to share the blog with. There are just so many books to read out there and I won’t be able to keep up. At this rate, I’d be so behind that the books I put up won’t be new books anymore. I wish I had friends who were also into the romance genre as I am and also into blogging as I am. I also wish I’d meet a new friend online, and that we’d click, and we can set up SSR together.

Oh well, if you happen to come by this blog and read this and know of someone, please do refer them to me. I’d really like to expand my horizons, and I’m looking forward to meeting fellow book geeks.

Rebirth

August 31, 2010

After a month long hiatus, I am back in my WP blog again. I miss the friends that I have met here. Blogging is just not fun when you don’t have friends to share things with. I have always loved this blog, which is why I have kept this even when I was not posting anything new here.

It is just very unfortunate that I had to take a time off for the past weeks. During the first week of July, I bought the domain for my poetry website called Poetry and Ice Cream. Because that said had a paid domain, I had to focus on establishing it and making sure it got the publicity and online presence it needed.

I am very thankful for the friends I have who have really shown support in visiting the website. I also even made a Facebook page for Poetry and Ice Cream. However, I am not just a poet. I am also a blogger, and I am someone who loves to share things to the world. This is why I am here again. I am looking forward to connecting with old friends. I hope they still remember me, though.

TTFN… See you all tomorrow. xoxo

Free

May 8, 2010

These part time work as a freelance writer is extremely exhausting and fun. It’s exhausting because I need to be able to deliver several articles as fast as I can. But I am also enjoying it because I am learning a lot from the articles that I write. In short, I can definitely see myself doing this freelance gig for a long time. My mom says it’s only right that I take advantage of my skills. I was born with the ability to write well. It would be such a waste if I fail to use it for my advantage.

I will apologize in advance if there comes a time when I am absent from the blog That means I just needed to take a breather and give my brain a little rest. However, I will always be here for the rally on Thursdays. I’ll also make more effort in visiting my friends’ blogs when I’m online. Have  great weekend, folks. 🙂

Comments….

May 7, 2010

I chose this award from Jingle’s blog. Please check her out by clicking on her name. I think this award fits me because my poems have received nothing but amazing comments from people that I have met in this community initiated by Jingle. Really, I am truly happy to have been part of this amazing group of poets and bloggers. It is really a great pleasure to be blogging with them, reading their works, and giving them encouragementss.

My blog is indeed getting the best comments. When I started my blog, I never expected I would get this much support. But I am really happy. Thanks, friends. You have all brought blogging to another level. 🙂

Chocolate High – The History

April 14, 2010

When I started blogging, I always used the blog title “Heaven on Earth.” Even when I have transferred from one blog host to another, I kept using that title. However, when I started my WP blog, I realized I wanted to use something that had meaning to me.

I did not want to just use the default “Ishabelle’s blog” because it did not really define me at all. I love the thought of ownership, but I wanted my blog to not only show ownership but personality and relevance.

It was then that I remembered my favorite song, Chocolate High. The song is a collaboration by India Arie and Musiq Soulchild, two of the most talented contemporary RNB musicians that I know. I decided then to use the song title as my blog title.

I hope that I am not violating any copyright rules, since the phrase is actually common already. This may be the first that it was used as a blog, though.

I am so glad I decided to be different this time. My blog has never meant as much to me as it does now. Also, I find that I have never enjoyed blogging so much until I started this blog. I am really going to keep blogging until I am old, and I don’t have readers anymore. 🙂

Seriously…

March 30, 2010

I have always wanted to try multi-blogging. The idea of maintaining more than one blog is exciting. It also poses a challenge. Can I actually do it if I multi-blog? Right now, I have two blogs; one of them is not yet live. Can I actually get away if I create a third blog? Honestly, I think I can. It’s just that I don’t know anything else to blog about. My second blog was an easy idea because I already have a lot of poems to post on it. But a third blog? Well, what else can I possibly blog about?

I guess then that I just have to keep two blogs for now. It is already multi-blogging because I have more than one blog. But this is a lot easier. The blog awards that I received are poking me in the ribs, wanting to be posted up. Unfortunately, I do not have much time to blog today. I am currently trying to oversee the training of three smart ladies who will start taking calls on Friday. I have to give them a lot of time. Until next time. 🙂

Not so Manic…

March 29, 2010

I am currently trying to be busy with a new blog. No, I am not leaving WordPress. I just created a second blog where I am going to post all the poems I have ever written. People who are into photography create photoblogs to post their pictures. I follow one or two photoblogs myself. However, I feel like I should also create my own poetry blog. I have loved writing since I was about 12. I want to compile everything in one blog. It’s going to be a riot, I am sure, and by riot, I don’t mean it in a good way.

I have written at least 200 poems. Posting them all in one blog is sure to make a mess out of things. I am willing to take a risk, though. I will just have to find a way to arrange things, create pages, links, and widgets to make things easier to access and more fun to read through. As of now, the blog is still private because it is still under maintenance. I am going to keep this blog here because this is chronicles my entire life. The poetry blog will serve as one facet out of the many that I have. When the site is ready, I will surely invite you all to visit.

I have not been asked to work on a Monday morning for a while now. I have always had my work scheduled on afternoons. This week is a different story, though. I have to train three girls for a new campaign. This is my second week with the girls. I am glad for Mondays, even if they may be manic most of the time. I will probably be posting another blog entry later today. I hope so.

Blogtastic Friends Award From Shakira

March 19, 2010

Shakira gave me this award almost two weeks ago, and I am posting it just today. I want to keep this award to myself. I hope you guys do not get offended by me doing that. I am going to post another award which I will pass on, surely. Shakira, thank you so much for being so sweet and kind. You are really a person who gives so many things to her friends, and that’s one thing that I absolutely like about you. I wish you all the blessings in everything that you do. You really have such a good heart. Let’s all visit her blog by following this link: http://justmeshakirack.blogspot.com/2010/03/unexpected-gifts-from-friends.html

3000

March 10, 2010

I have just added five new bloggers to my blogroll. If you don’t find your name there yet, don’t fret. I will be adding more in the next few days. Sooner or later, your name and your link will appear there too. I am having fun with blogging. I think this may be the longest time that I have stuck with a blog and written at least one entry everyday. I am also very grateful to my readers. Today I have reached the 3000 milestone. When I started this blog, I did not even dream of having anybody read my blog at all. Of course, I wanted that to happen, but how could one person expect to be noticed in this over-populated blogosphere? Now, after almost four months, this blog has grown and evolved into something more than just fun. This has become a dedication too. Thank you so much, friends. xoxo
