Blank Verses for a Non-Blank Life

September 23, 2010

What can I ask for in my entire life
If not for no one else’s love but yours.
When all else leaves, you’re all I need to stay.
When things go wrong, I can still make it through
As long as you’re around to lift me up.
When clouds are here to chase the light away,
You stay as bright as any light could be.
I’ll never stop this feeling that I have;
I’m thankful that you came into my life

Poetry Song

May 10, 2010

I was watching the old movie Bed of Roses earlier. I heard Sarah MacLachlan’s song called Ice Cream. I just like hearing that song because the lyrics are so sweet. It’s what poetry is all about – being able to express what one feel through words. If music fits, it makes the poem even more special and magical. Anyway, if you haven’t heard the song before, you should Google it out. Here are the words to the song. I wasn’t kidding when I said they were sweet… 🙂

Your love is better than ice cream
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
And your love is better than ice cream
Everyone here know how to fight

And it’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down to the place
Where we started from

Your love is better than chocolate
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
Oh love is better than chocolate
Everyone here knows how to cry

It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down to the place
Where we started from…

Almost Late For the Rally

April 8, 2010

When I was in High School, I used to hang out with three other girls. We liked to think we were cool. Maybe we were. But everyday thinks they’re cool in high school, you know. We were always part of the popular crowd because we were in the Science Class, meaning, we were ahead of the others. Anyway, I wrote this poem back then, to describe the four of us. I was reading it earlier today, and I realized I just had to post this here. I hope you guys enjoy.

Angels of Heaven

Four girls so sweet and gentle.
It makes many people wonder.
Why should they be so beautiful?
It leaves others very envious.

The first one is strong and tall,
But she cares for one and all.
She is also very intelligent,
Always a part of every merriment.

The other one is timid and shy.
Her friends can’t understand why.
She is kind and patient too.
For a friend, everything, she’d do.

Another is loud and bubbly
But sometimes could be very funny.
She lives life nonchalantly
And braves trials triumphantly.

The last one is like a child.
Her heart is soft and mild,
But when she’s mad, she’s horrible.
Although she is always lovable.

Four girls so nice and cute;
They’re like angels so pure.
Everybody thinks they’re great;
They are just so hard to hate.

Most Promising Poet Award

April 2, 2010

I am so happy and proud to be posting the award that Jingle gave me today. I dd not expect to receive any more awards considering that I sometimes fail to post the awards that I receive. Anyway, I really want to thank Jingle for the award. Please click this link to access her blog, and see the one where she gave the award to me… 🙂

The day that Jingle visited my blog was really the day that blogging changed for me. It is the start of a bigger blogging world and me, being a part of it all. I want to pass this award on to three bloggers/poets whose works have inspired me.

1. Dr. Jekyll (The Good Doctor)

2. John (The Poet Traveler)

3. Wordwand (The Professor)

All You

April 1, 2010

I have to admit I did this poem with such haste, it feels so raw and unpolished. Anyway, I want to post this as my poem for today’s rally. I want to know how people will react to my poems if I write ones that are written in such a hurry. I know this may not be as tasteful as the others I’ve posted in the past, but I still wish you enjoy this. *wink* 🙂

All you could ever want
Is in front of you.
I am anything you want;
I am in front of you

All you could ever need,
I could give to you.
I can give all you need;
I’d give anything for you.

All you could long for
I would give to you only
All you could hope for
You’ll find in me only.

I want to be everything
That you could ever want,
Or possibly ever need,
What you long and hope for.

I will be…..

Tearful Rhapsody

March 28, 2010

I look at you now, and I just know
That the time has come to let you go.

We loved each other the best we knew how,
But all the love in the world is not enough now.

The ring that once bound two people together
Now feels like cold metal, built to smother.

The bed that once seemed like a world so big
Is now too small for two different worlds to fit.

The nights that were spent in each other’s embrace
Are now just nights that pud an end to days.

The mornings that were always shiny and bright
Are just days that end up as a really cold night.

The hearts that once beat with a love so real
Are now homes to wounds that never seem to heal.

The touch that once burned with all the fiery passion
Is now a touch that hurts, a touch with no emotion.

The eyes that used to see only each other
Now flow with tears that couldn’t fall any faster.

So now, my love, I am finally setting you free;
I’ll never have the courage to say these things to thee.

I am writing this letter as my apology
And my thanks for the love you’ve given me.

No other woman can ever love her man
The way I did. I loved you the best I can.

And no other heart can break like mine does now;
No other person can cry as much as I had done now.

Maybe we will, one day, see each other again,
But until then, we know that this is the end.

Never

March 25, 2010

Nevermore will I senses hear
The joyous ring of your laughter
That rings in my ears, so clear.
They are gone forever and after.

Never where will I again see
The sun that shines so bright.
The warmth that surrounds me,
The star that brings me light.

Never will I feel my heart
Skip a beat or beat twice as fast
It now feels so torn apart
Seconds, eternities, seem to last

Never will rose’s sweet scent
Linger in my memory disturbingly
All of my energy, I have spent
Forgetting, But, succeeding, unlikely.

Nevermore shall I my tongue taste
Sweet love that used to be there
All your memory has been erased
Never to be remembered never where.

This is my poem for today’s poet’s rally. I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. The idea just suddenly came into me while I was talking about Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere with my friend. Enjoy… xoxo

I am also going to nominate one poet for the perfect poet award from Jingle. This is week 11. I have been joining the rally for more than a month now. I like it; I enjoy it. My nomination this week goes to: Trisha… Please visit her by following this link: http://mydomainpvt.wordpress.com
