I have nothing against the Jejemons. I just don’t approve of the publicity and the attention that the fad is getting these days. It’s not even something that helps the society. it does not even do anything for the society at all. So why bother? I am not calling myself a Jejebuster because frankly, I have more important things to do that chase after a useless fad. It’s just that communication should be clear, correct in grammar and easily understandable by people you talk to. Communicating the Jejemon way is absolutely not going to help anybody conquer the world. I find it as a waste of time.
I don’t know about any other Filipino out there. I never used text lingo before, why should I use Jejemon texting now? I would rather be straight to the point and simple. At least, it got me where I am now. I am sure that non-Filipino readers of my blog will not understand what I am ranting about. Thank goodness they can’t. It’s really not something I am proud of. People have been making fun of Filipino English for so long. This just gives them yet another reason to think that we are all trivial people who just happens to have one very good boxer and one very corrupt government.
*wink*

The roads that I travel on,
The deeds I’d have gladly done,
All the tears I would have shed,
The walls I’d have painted red,
The times that I cried for you,
Moments I was black and blue,
The bets that I have all lost,
Paying this very high cost,
The risks that I failed to take,
Vows I never want to break,
The breaths I held just for you,
The things I just couldn’t do,
The lost ring on my finger,
The pain that seems to linger,
Words that I just couldn’t say,
The smiles I have thrown away,
The phone that will never ring;
When I look at everything,
Again, these things, I’d go through
For one more moment with you.

It has been a pleasure writing another poem for the rally. I want to really thank Jingle for her irreplaceable efforts in organizing this weekly rally. There is really no one like her. She is very dedicated to the poets. God bless Jingle! 🙂
I want to nominate Beth for next week’s Perfect Poet. Her poetry is very captivating. One could not help but read through all of her words, imagine the story of her poems, and be amazed at the adventure her poetry brings.

I want to apologize to everybody if I have been absent for the past few days. I have missed blogging so much, but I was really stumped with a lot of things. I have my poem ready, though. I wouldn’t miss the rally for the world. The poem will be posted tomorrow. Plus, it’s also going to include my acceptance for the Perfect Poet award. I am really excited to be touring the blogosphere tomorrow reading the most perfect poems and getting to know the most talented people.
See you all tomorrow, folks. I will be holding my breath until the time comes when I get to read all the poetry again.

My heart throbs as it never had before,
Ever since you waled right out of the door.
There’s this huge gaping hole inside my heart,
Ever since you tore both of us apart.
And all the days that I shall face alone,
I’ll live these days with a heart turned to stone.
My soul’s restless searching for only you;
After you, my dreams have never come true.
My mind is traveling a lonely space,
So much to wander but no friendly face
And all these nights that leave me feeling cold,
Without your love, without your hand to hold.
Where are you? I have searched for you, lost one.
Come back to me, and bring back in the sun.

I am very honored to be an awardee again for the Perfect Poet Award. Lord knows how much prestige it gives one poet. We all do our best to write the best and most thought-provoking or emotional poems we can ever come up with. We do this every week. We scour the blogging community to show our support to the other poets who go through the same process of creating a poem.
I have always loved poetry. I know that this is where I fit right in. I want to thank Jingle for the constant support that she has shown to all the poets. I also want to congratulate all the participants for a job well done. I want to pass my award on to William. His dedication to poetry is inspiring. Someday, I wish to accomplish the same things as he has now. *wink*

Tomorrow is yet another Thursday. I already have the poem done, but I won’t post it until tomorrow. I am also supposed to prepared my acceptance and nomination for the Perfect Poets Award. I still don’t know who to nominate. I will have to read through the poems tomorrow and see whose poem will strike a chord within me.
I am really excited for tomorrow. I have not been writing a lot of poems lately, but I always make it a point to have one poem ready every Thursday. It’s really a great thing that Jingle started this rally. It has been 18 weeks now, and the community is stronger than ever. There are other members I have not seen anymore, but I am glad that I got to know them through the rally. I am also very happy to meet these new poets that Jingle has found. I know I will really have a great time reading through a lot of poetry tomorrow.

Finally, the 2010 Philippine presidential election is done. The results are not final yet. However, there’s a certain relief that comes from everyone. Before the elections, people were nervous and thought there will be a failure of elections this time. I did not think it was likely to happen, but a lot of people were really nervous.
Thank heavens everything’s all over now. We just need to wait for the final announcement of who the next Philippine President is. From the news today, it looks like our new President will be Senator Benigno Aquino, III. Anybody who knows about Philippine history knows who he is. I am not saying that he is the perfect candidate. In fact, there are about a couple of other presidential candidates who may be more qualified than him. But qualifications are not all that matter in the country’s highest public position. A leader does not need only to be qualified. He also has to have enough charisma and patience to get the entire nation to listen to him. If Senator Aquino will be declared as the new President, I wish him all the luck. This country has been through so much. I am sure that he is in for yet another bumpy ride.

I was watching the old movie Bed of Roses earlier. I heard Sarah MacLachlan’s song called Ice Cream. I just like hearing that song because the lyrics are so sweet. It’s what poetry is all about – being able to express what one feel through words. If music fits, it makes the poem even more special and magical. Anyway, if you haven’t heard the song before, you should Google it out. Here are the words to the song. I wasn’t kidding when I said they were sweet… 🙂
Your love is better than ice cream
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
And your love is better than ice cream
Everyone here know how to fight
And it’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down to the place
Where we started from
Your love is better than chocolate
Better than anything else that I’ve tried
Oh love is better than chocolate
Everyone here knows how to cry
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down
It’s a long way down to the place
Where we started from…

These part time work as a freelance writer is extremely exhausting and fun. It’s exhausting because I need to be able to deliver several articles as fast as I can. But I am also enjoying it because I am learning a lot from the articles that I write. In short, I can definitely see myself doing this freelance gig for a long time. My mom says it’s only right that I take advantage of my skills. I was born with the ability to write well. It would be such a waste if I fail to use it for my advantage.
I will apologize in advance if there comes a time when I am absent from the blog That means I just needed to take a breather and give my brain a little rest. However, I will always be here for the rally on Thursdays. I’ll also make more effort in visiting my friends’ blogs when I’m online. Have great weekend, folks. 🙂

I chose this award from Jingle’s blog. Please check her out by clicking on her name. I think this award fits me because my poems have received nothing but amazing comments from people that I have met in this community initiated by Jingle. Really, I am truly happy to have been part of this amazing group of poets and bloggers. It is really a great pleasure to be blogging with them, reading their works, and giving them encouragementss.
My blog is indeed getting the best comments. When I started my blog, I never expected I would get this much support. But I am really happy. Thanks, friends. You have all brought blogging to another level. 🙂
